Shaun Sundahl is an author, off-duty Southern California police sergeant and tactical team leader, lead instructor, and owner. Shaun specializes in teaching students how to pass the California Private Patrol Operator and Private Investigator Qualified Manager Exam. Shaun also offers his services as a qualified manager for security companies that meet his strict requirements. For the past 14 years, Shaun has also offered his expertise in firearms and tactics training for civilians and security professionals.

Shaun is currently licensed as a California Private Investigator (26810), but is not accepting new clients. Since 2010, Shaun has experience with witness interviews, mortgage fraud investigations, public record searches, unclaimed property investigations, POST background investigations, and criminal investigations. Shaun has diverted all of this availability to assisting applicants pass the California Private Investigator Qualified Manager Exam in California, Private Investigator education, and through an advisory role, assist his colleagues manage cases.  On March 29, 2022, Shaun qualified as an expert witness for private investigation industry standards at the Office of Administrative Hearings (California Department of General Services).

Shaun has extensive experience in law enforcement and private security supervision, including being the qualified manager of a undisclosed security company with over 200 private security officers.

Shaun is able to testify as an expert witness in administrative, criminal, or civil court as to the security industry standards involving deadly force, firearms, less lethal weapons (kinetic projectile launchers), chemical agents, tactics, and reporting writing.
