Shaun specializes in firearms training to anyone in the Palm Springs area that is a responsible person willing to learn safe gun handling during their private firearms lessons :
- Any age 12-67 and 68 and older
- Any gender or person of diversity
- Citizens with physical limitations
- Couples of any kind
- Families
- Families with children
- Individual who wants to learn at a slower and manageable pace
- Business owners, writers, artists, actors, or actresses
Most people who reach out to us are vacationing in the Palm Springs or Palm Desert area or they own a second home in the area. Many are retiring movie actors or actresses, authors, artists, or business owners.
What distinguishes our services from other firearm training facilities is that we do not offer courses as a group. The firearms training in the region we offer is only offered to individuals, couples, or families.
Some actors or actresses (or social media influencers) travel to Palm Springs to retreat from the busier life. Some come out here to concentrate. Regardless, Shaun can help you learn how to manipulate a rifle or a handgun like a professional. Also, for any clients that are coming out to create content, Shaun can direct your camera crew to getting the best photos and videos in the safest manner possible. Many ranges have restrictions on filming down range (and they should), however, because we normally train in open desert, there are not too many restrictions.
Most of our private firearms training clients in the Palm Springs area who want to learn how to shoot a gun, may not feel comfortable in a traditional class, or maybe they feel they need extra help. If this involves you, or your family, Shaun can help!
On another note if you ever want to increase the intensity of your private shooting lesson, just ask Shaun who has a diversity of firearms and tactics-related training. Shaun can always increase the tempo to add sweat.
You have the freedom of using your hours the way you want, or we will design a custom private firearms training course based on your specific requests. Our current fee structure is $500.00 per hour with a 2-hour minimum. For the new shooter, we recommend 24 hours of training broken into 12 2-hour days due to the hot weather conditions in the desert. Some people are older than others or may have physical limitations. Of course, everyone is different and may need less or more training; however, you can never get too much training!
Fees are due 7 days before the course or lesson begins.
We will normally have your shooting lessons in open desert. Our preferred public shooting area is the Berdoo Canyon Shooting Area in Desert Hot Springs.
Hi, my name is Shaun Sundahl and I am 44 years old. I am a former resident of Chino Hills. I have been happily married for over 20 years and I have a child in college. My other children are elementary-school aged. My greatest asset to the firearms training industry is that I can simplify a shooting technique for people who might struggle on the range or feel intimidated by firearms instructors.
In 2019, I authored Stalker Poison: A Safety Guide for Women Experiencing Domestic Violence and Stalking.
In 2010, I completed the 40-hour NRA Law Enforcement Handgun Instructor course and soon become a licensed Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) firearms instructor (License # TIF 2059).
In 2019 at my police department employer, I was assigned as a Range Master to the Range Training Division. As a range master, I was responsible for coordinating firearm training events and training sworn police officers in marksmanship/skills, tactics/gun handling, and mindset.
I am also a POST pistol, shotgun, rifle, red dot, and chemical agent instructor. In addition, I am on the firearms training division for the basic police academy.
In 2023, I became the first of two SWAT operators in my department 100 year + history (and second oldest SWAT student in a 35 student class). Although the SWAT team is non-operational pending the recruitment of other candidates, I regularly participate in regional SWAT training with other agencies, and I use specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities of basic SWAT tactics to train officers.
I believe that all firearm instructors who provide shooting courses to citizens, armed security, military veterans, or law enforcement officers, should be a lifetime student. When searching for a qualified gun instructor to give you shooting lessons, it’s okay to ask the instructor “When is the last time you attended a course to update your training and when?”
Below, is a list of 393 hours of firearms, tactical, or teaching related courses I have attended over the years:
• Basic SWAT School – Golden West College – 80 Hours - 2023
• POST Chemical Agent Instructor – Tricell USA – 36 Hours – 2022
• POST (CT) Low Light Instructor – Cougar Mountain Solutions – 16 Hours – 2022
